How to charge Samsung Galaxy S8/S8 Plus faster and safer

After months of waiting and rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are finally unveiled on March 29th this morning. The two flagships from the Korean giant might be the most powerful Android smartphones released in 2017.

The new features in the two siblings are exciting for smartphone users, such as the redesigned all screen front and built-in AI assistance. After full preparation, Samsung should learn from the lesson of the Note 7's battery issues.

From now we know the S8 and S8 Plus are powered by a 3,000mAh and 3,500mAh battery respectively. Samsung maintains the Qualcomm Quick Charge and wireless charging features adopted in their previous S7/S7 Edge and Note7 devices.

Many Samsung users would like to buy one or two backup chargers, power banks for their new device. This time, consumers will be more careful on choosing alternative chargers. As a charging solution expert, we will list Tronsmart's power lineup for the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus.

USB Type-C rules all.

The two flagships feature the latest USB Type-C port for wired charging and data syncing. Since there are still many devices that don't support USB Type-C, some USB Type-C adapters will be inevitable when connecting the S8 and S8 Plus to other devices. One point you should keep in mind: all Type-C adapters should have 56kΩ resistance. The following USB type-C adapters all comply with USB Type-C rules.

1) USB Type-C male to Micro-USB female adapter. When you just have a regular Micro-USB cable or don't want to take a USB Type-C cable alongside whenever you go, we recommend the Tronsmart CTMF Type-C adapter. This adapter supports the USB OTG function, so your USB flash drives can be connected specifically to data transfers.

2) USB Type-C male to regular USB port adapter. This kind of adapter is used to extend your Type-C device to other peripherals. Most peripherals use the regular USB port format when you want to connect your Galaxy S8/S8 Plus to USB storage drives or other USB connected audio/video devices. For this situation, the Tronsmart Mini Type-C to USB 3.0 adapter is your best choice.

USB Type-C cables to charge & sync data.

Battery life is always the key limiter for smartphones. Most smartphones are not able to stay powered on for two days (even with normal usage). If you are a smartphone power user, charging your phone becomes part of your daily routine. If you check online, there are many types of Type-C cables and chargers. The following are some examples of our best-selling charging accessories.

1) USB Type-C cables

For charging the S8/S8 Plus at home, a USB Type-C cable will be essential. You can choose the Tronsmart USB3.0 Type-C Male to USB-A Male Sync & Charging Cable. Included in the package are two 3.3 feet cords (one black, one white).

2) USB fast-charging power adapters and chargers

The Galaxy S8/S8 Plus is expected to feature Qualcomm Quick Charge. So to get the fastest charging speed you should buy a backup wall charger or desktop charger that is compatible with the S8/S8 Plus. For wall chargers, we suggest the Tronsmart dual-port Quick Charge 3.0 wall charger. You can also plug in other QC-enabled devices or a Lightning cable to charge your iDevices.

If you have more than two devices to charge, the Tronsmart five-port desktop charger will probably be your best choice. One blue USB port supports Quick Charge 3.0, and the remaining four ports feature Tronsmart's VoltiQ technology. Our VoltiQ charging tech is the best solution to charge non-QC enabled devices like regular Android and iOS devices.

3) USB rapid car charger

When you spend as much time in your car as most people do, you definitely need a fast car charger to keep you on the move. The Tronsmart dual-port Quick Charge 3.0 car charger can satisfy all your needs. It shares the same features as the dual port wall charger above. It is the best car charger for rapidly charging the Galaxy S8/S8 Plus.

4) USB fast charging portable chargers and power banks.

For heavy smartphone users, a portable charger or power bank is one of the most important accessories they must have. Usually, a 10,000mAh power bank can give most smartphones 2 full charges. As for the Galaxy S8/S8 Plus, you want a power bank that can rapidly charge them and it should be portable enough to carry around. The Tronsmart Presto 10,400mAh power bank can give the Galaxy S8/S8 Plus 2 full charges. It can also be fully recharged within 6 hours using a rapid wall charger.

Untethered Wireless Freedom

Wireless charging or Qi charging is one of the key features in Samsung flagship phones. Although using a cable isn't difficult, finding compatible cables can become cumbersome. It's much easier to set your phone on a charging pad than to fiddle with a cable.

Tronsmart’s AirAmp wireless fast charger can wirelessly fast charge your Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus up to 10W power. The charging speed is a little slower compared to tethered charging, although the 10W power output is noticeably faster than conventional chargers. You can rest your smartphone in vertical & horizontal position to get fast charging or just hold your smartphone if you don't want to charge it. Rear cooling vents are made for optimal performance & stability to cool down the charging temperature.

If you're having difficulty choosing a wireless or USB charger, we recommend the Tronsmart AirAmp Hybrid Wireless Charging Power Bank. It is a 2-in-1 wireless & USB portable charger. If you're tired of carrying bulky cables and constantly plugging them in then this is the charger for you. Simply sit your Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus on the surface of this power bank and it'll start charging. It has a wireless output up to 10W and the portable design allows you to charge at home, in the office or on the go.

Any of the above Tronsmart accessories will work great with your new Galaxy S8/S8 Plus. If you have any questions about chargers, power banks or safe phone charging practices, feel free to reach us at or on our Facebook Page.
